Men’s Missions Group

Men’s Missions Group (“The Barn Boys”): Meets again Saturday, February 7 at 9:00a.m.  Men ages 18 and up are invited to join our men’s fellowship group. We normally meet once a month in the church barn for food and fellowship. The group hopes to participate in a church missions project quarterly. Last year, we volunteered at the Dorcas Thrift Shop in Cary, cleaned the barn area and hung up John Morton’s sign, and volunteered at Habitat for Humanity build day in Raleigh. Please contact Elder, Brad Peterson or the office with questions.

Have you been visiting with Cornerstone?

Would you like to know more about the church? Join us February 8 at 10:10 in the library. Rev. Meg will help you get to know more about the church, with an opportunity to become a member of Cornerstone.  There will be a light breakfast available.

Ash Wednesday Service, 7:00 p.m.

Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day journey of Lent, leading up to Easter, as we start our “Along the Way-A Lenten Journey” theme in the “dust”.  We will place ashes on our foreheads and reflect on where our baptism and funeral meet. Join us in the sanctuary, on Ash Wednesday, February 18, at 7:00p.m. as we worship and reflect together.

Lenten Book Study

Lent for Everyone – For the season of Lent, we will be studying Lent for Everyone: Matthew, Year A: A Daily Devotional,  by N.T Wright.  This book has a daily devotional that takes us through the Gospel of  Matthew. Each Wednesday at noon, beginning February 25, we’ll meet at church for “Soup and a Study” – where we will discuss thedevotional and enjoy soup and fellowship.  A sign-up sheet for the study and to bring soup one week is in the narthex.  When signing up, let us know if you need a book or purchase one here: https://a.co/d/hEQor2h, or for kindle here: https://a.co/d/ig0dMmb

Cornerstone Missions Committee POSTPONED

The Missions Committee is seeking new members! We meet one Sunday a month after the 11a.m. service. The committee coordinates Missions projects and programs throughout the year such as the Little Red Wagon, Habitat for Humanity Build Days, and the Angel Tree. We also decide how to distribute the funds allocated for Missions in our yearly church budget. This year, we are also looking to add a few new projects and could use your help. Please contact our Missions Elder or the office with questions.

Stewardship 2026

Thank you to all who have already submitted your pledge cards for the coming year.  If you have not done so, please prayerfully discern what you are able to give.  Remember, this is a good-faith estimate.  Your pledge allows Session to better budget for the coming year.  Can we increase mission gifts?  Can we subsidize a youth summer trip?  Remember, God loves a cheerful giver!

Can you help with Refreshments?

We are in need of Refreshment Coordinators for Sunday mornings. Sign up here.  Please contact the office or any Deacon for more info. Those who sign up will need to bring cookies and/or other snacks such as fruit, crackers etc. and lemonade for about 20-25. The coffee is already made and set up. Supplies such as paper plates/cups/napkins are in the cabinet in atrium. Come out during the last hymn to set out refreshments and pour lemonade and water. Cleanup responsibilities are to: clean the big coffee pot, any serving plates, and put any supplies back in the cabinet. Thank you!
