Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting, is the first day of Lent. It occurs 40 days, plus six Sundays, so 46 days before Easter. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness fasting and then was tempted by the devil before he began his ministry. During the season of Lent we remind ourselves of his sacrifice as we fast, or give something up for Lent. Ashes are placed on our forehead or hand as a symbol of the Christ’s sacrifice.
Please join us in the sanctuary for our Ash Wednesday service. Wednesday, March 5at 7:00 pm
